Our Day of Thanks
This year we have so much to be thankful for, just as in years past. Our families, our friends, our health. Although we were busy, it was a very successful first Thanksgiving with our Anna. We left our house early in the morning. Justin and Brice dropped Anna and I off at the Ruffin's. Anna was able to meet her Great Grandpa Ruffin and his wife Helen. Both of them look so good, it's unbelievable! Justin and Brice headed over to the Reynolds' to help Robin lift and then stuff her turkey. It was over 20 pounds so it was heavy! We all watched the parade at the respective houses.
See?Helen, Grandma and Anna
Grandma, Brice and Grandpa (who is actually my dad's dad)
You will see Anna's first Thanksgiving dinner below which we had at the Ruffin's. It was delicious, as always! After we all digested for a little bit and visited, we then headed over to the Reynolds' where, as Brice told Anna, there were "hundreds of people"! Their dinner had already begun so we just snuck in and Justin grabbed some extra sides while Brice and I waited for our second round of desserts!
Anna gets one year on Pa's lap at the head of the table! Enjoy it while you can girl because next year you're going to get demoted!
Anna was very entertained by everyone at the Reynolds'. She was quite cheery for not napping well. Here she is playing peek-a-boo with Robin's mom, "Nanny".
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year! Most of our Christmas decorations are up and I have changed the blog to reflect the season. I thought the background was a good combination of girly and Christmas-y since we are celebrating our little girls birthday in a couple of weeks! I may have several different backgrounds throughout the season so keep checking back!

Thanksgiving Program
Today was Brice's Thanksgiving Program at school. They have been practicing since school started in September so he was so excited to finally perform all of the songs. Around the house and in the car, he would belt them out but once he got on stage, he was much more reserved. He spotted us on his walk in and then proceeded to look the other direction the whole time! Every now and then he would cut his eyes over to make sure we were watching. He loved having Anna there and said he saw her smiling during the program. I didn't take any pictures during the Feast as it was very crowded, I had a stroller and Brice was so hungry he couldn't follow simple directions! (Not sure who he gets this from...hmmmm???)Brice's class was the cornucopia, Brice the pumpkin.
Luke and Avery were the corn. As you can see Luke was happy, Avery, not so much!
Brice told us this morning before I took him to school that we might not be able to see him because, "there is a lot of material on my head and my costume"!

Sunday Snapshots: The Grandparents
Okay, so the four grandparents can kill me later or just not get me any Christmas presents but I had to put them on here! They are such a huge part of our lives and we couldn't have made it through last year without them. As you can see they weren't afraid to "pose" for the camera!Nana (Justin's mom)
Here is Nana at the lakehouse and she's drinking water! Imagine what it would be with wine!Thursday, November 19, 2009
This Time...Last Year
For whatever reason, good or bad, I am all about dates. This time last week, this time yesterday, this time a decade ago. Not that I want to live in the past, but I have lived a charmed life and it is good remembering those wonderful times. And This Time Last Year, this is what we were up to...
cleaning bottles and putting up Anna's curtains with Grandad

Me and My Girl
Last night, I was sitting on the family room couch watching Oprah on DVR. I looked to the right, where our Christmas tree will be set up in a few weeks. I started crying. All the memories of last Christmas came back. I then reminded myself that it is over and nothing can come between Me and My Girl!

Standing Ta11
Today marks 11 months for Anna! And her newest trick is....
STANDING TALL!She also enjoys her books, her dolls, giving hugs and talking up a storm! She still loves to eat turkey, mozzarella cheese, bread and raisins. Brice walked about a week after he turned 11 months but I think she still has a couple of weeks. We shall see!

Hilarious Hair Day
In honor of the letter "H", Brice had hilarious hair day at school today. I went up to the school to help with some shirts for the Thanksgiving Program and got to see all of the kids hair. Quite entertaining. Brice did enjoy having his hair crazy for the day. As we all know, he is very straight laced so this was a little out of the box for him!

Sunday Snapshots
This past week Brice came to me and asked me why his camera wouldn't take any pictures. I figured it was the batteries. I changed them but that didn't solve the problem. So, I then looked and discovered he had taken almost 400 pictures! I told him we were going to have to download them to the computer. What fun it has been going through them! So, for lack of better posts, I'm going to try and do "Sunday Snapshots" from Brice and post a few of his pictures every Sunday. They are in no particular order but he has accumulated these for almost a full year now. I love that he took them because it is like viewing life through his perspective. Although I probably won't include any, there were plenty of me nursing Anna last year! It is like taking a trip down memory lane though!
Pi in the bumbo seat!
I think Anna is probably about three or four months here.
So tiny and me in my PJ's. Either it was a long night or we were just taking it easy. Not sure if she had already gotten sick at this point.

Bitsy Bear
This past Monday, a friend came home with Brice. Her name is Bitsy Bear. She comes to Brice's classroom everyday and "talks" to them. She is a puppet and Brice just loves her! He has been talking about bringing her home since the Open House at school when he found out this would be happening. This week Brice is "Family of the Week" which I'm sure he loves because they get to talk about him and his family all week. So Bitsy came home with Brice on Monday and spent the night Tuesday as well. We treated her well and I kept a journal of everything she did. Below, you will see pictures of Bitsy Bear at the stuffed animal party! Oh and Pi did well, no jealousy issues!

Halloween Season Concluded
So, our Halloween Season was a success!! On Thursday we had Brice's school party complete with a hayride, pumpkin "patch" and trick or treating around the school. Anna was good as gold while she was pushed around in her stroller observing all the activities. She fell asleep immediately when I put her in the car to head home. Poor girl was exhausted! Brice enjoyed showing me all of the Halloween projects he made.
Before he picked this pumpkin, he said, "I won't get one because I already have one at home." I told him he could pick one out for Anna, he thought that was neat.
Anna was brought back to the house a little early because of the rain. She then helped Grandma and Grandad hand out candy and waved "bye-bye" to everyone as they left!
This was probably the highlight of the evening. Aunt Blaire found this at Target and brought it to Brice. After he was done trick or treating he would follow me to the door to hand out candy. He wouldn't say a word, just move around the doorway and peer out into the kids faces. It was hilarious and some of the kids were not too sure of him! He is still playing with it now and I have a feeling it will take a while for him to let me put it away. Brice had the BEST time trick or treating and enjoyed Halloween immensely! And that concludes the Halloween Season!
